Well...its been almost 2 months since my EX passed away suddenly, and still haven`t received a "sign" from him or a dream, telling me that he was ok. I think that would help me to be able to close this book.
Our son is wanting a chance to tell him "goodbye" as well. He has had a couple brief dreams.
Why do you believe he's not ok? Why do you need a sign to let you know that he's ok? Honestly, maybe the sign is that he's leaving you alone to help you move on with your life. Why can't your son tell him goodbye? There's nothing wrong with your son (or you) finding a quiet place and talking to your ex. I lost a good friend in a car accident 20 years ago and other than a fateful, brief friendship with her sister about 5 years ago, I've never had any "sign" from her that she's ok. But I don't assume she's not. I still sometimes talk to her. Nothing wrong with that and it can be very therapeutic.
Someone in my family passed away 5 years ago. You couldn't be any closer than we were. I've never received a sign, nor has anyone else in the family. I don't believe in signs or we would have definitely got one from him. People may say "you just didn't see the sign", but the whole purpose of a sign is for it to be seen, right? I think some people want to see one so badly that they think that they do. I'm sure it makes them feel comforted, and sometimes thats what you need.
Yankeegirl, my triplet brother died in 1985, in 2001 I had a massive heart attack and when the EMTs arrived they found me on the floor not breathing nor any heartbeat, it's obvious they got me going again or I would be here typing this. I'm an engineer, I think in logical terms however, the things I experienced after my heart attack were all but logical to me. I don't believe in a God the way the bible presents God, let me get that out of the way.
I got visitations from my brother from Feb. 2001 to 2006, I asked him why it took so long to make himself present, he said that he had always been here and that it was me that failed to see him. These visits went on for 5 years, then on his last visit he said he would not be visiting anymore because he was returning, I've never had a visit from him since.

I think you've had some signs he's okay.. you either don't recognize them or don't remember them (dreams)
I remember abraham-esther explaining though that time on the other side is *different* (time really doesn't even exist!)
Why don't you find a good medium and have a conversation if you want too? but I mean if you know and feel in your heart he's A-Okay.. why bother?

dreams aren't really goodbye.. they are just contact.. when you see were all one or you know in your heart or can feel that life/experience just moves on.. "goodbye" doesn't exist then
