I believe in them, but since I've never actually seen any, feel a bit left out. I have seen one using a cloaking device though, or rather the distorted image in the sky, and a heat trail.
There are objects that fly and are unidentified but I don't think they come from outer space.
I think they are something that our government experiments with and is kept secret.
What a friend and I saw, driving on a highway back in 1973, is still a mystery to me. Three flat silvery triangles swooped down over the hood of our car. We didn't see them coming, we didn't see them going. They were only in our sight as they swooped down and then up again.
They were about 4 feet long and the two leading sides of the triangle were longer than the base (like an isosceles triangle if I remember my geometry.) They were perfectly flat, shiny, and plain.
The three flew in formation. Neither my friend nor I would admit at first that we had seen anything because we didn't want the other one to think we were crazy. Finally he said, "Did you see anything strange?"
I quickly asked, "Was it over the car?" He said, "Yes." Then we proceeded to described the exact same thing.
The only sense I can make out of it was that we were driving somewhere near Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Connecticut. There were a lot of factories that made parts for P&WA in the immediate area. Maybe the government had a contract with P&WA to make experimental aircraft. But even if they were remotely controlled, I still have no idea how we didn't see them coming or going--only could see them as they swooped over. Also, no one else in other cars saw them! I was checking out the people in the other cars to see. And when we got home I turned on the tv and there was nothing about it on the news. Weird.

It's hard to believe P&WA would be testing an experimental aircraft in CT - even the rural areas are pretty heavily populated. Particularly in the daytime, which is when your sighting seems to have occurred. The swooping down and going up again sounds kind of like a reflection on the windshield, maybe from something behind the car; any chance it was that?
Not sure it's a matter of belief as such to me, more that I keep an open mind to the possibility. Even if I've personally seen no evidence there are others that believe they have, and til I see any evidence I can only say "it's a possibility" but I can't say "they're not real" any more than I can see "they are real"

It was at dusk, not daytime. The area was not rural, it was rte 92 just south of Hartford and later on someone mentioned that P&WA was located nearby. Since P&WA was nearby I made that connection that maybe it had something to do with them. I don't think it was something from outer space but I've always wondered just what it was.
Definitely not a reflection on the windshield because I have driven on that highway many times and often at that time of evening but never saw anything like that before or since.
Years later when they came out with the stealth bomber it looked eerily similar. Not the same, but something like it.

Yeah, I know where that is; lved in Simsbury for three years in the early 80s. Your experience is a weird one, for sure.

not only do I believe in UFOs, but I also suspect that they are being flown here by space aliens from another world

Lol... Marvin Martian looks a lot like your 'eek' emoticon.
Anyhoo...I think sadly there's more than a few hoaxes that give the legitimate sightings a bad rap. Then there's the well meaning folks who see something that can be explained.
And then there's the small, very real, very legitimate sightings. They are increasing in both frequency & number of people who see them...and it only takes once to make you KNOW that what you saw was...well, the real deal. I'm not talking about a shooting star or slow moving plane seen from far away. I'm talking about something so flipping huge, and so low to the ground that you can make out details on its underbelly. Someone a few posts up mentioned defying the laws of physics. Exactly. Someone out there did.
Someone a few posts up mentioned defying the laws of physics.
Semantic nitpick:
Creatures cannot defy the laws of physics. It is impossible. But we 21st century humans often need to remind ourselves that we don't have all the laws of physics figured out yet. We've only scratched the surface of a very vast, very complicated cosmos.
Do I believe people see things they cannot identify? Certainly.
Do I believe Earth is being visited by extraterrestrial beings? No.
Now, that 'no' signifies a lack of affirmative belief. I highly doubt it is so. But I'm open to actual evidence - and by 'evidence' I mean something that goes beyond "Yeah, me and my cousin Charlie saw something weird in the sky one night at Burning Man!"
