I also cannot stand talking to people wearing sunglasses. The Sun worship preceeding Christianity doesn't seem so strange afterall..
How long do you gaze at the sun?
How often do you do that?

I live around alot of trees, so I usually have about a 5-10 minute window of opportunity during my evening walks where I am heading west at sunset. However many times I look @ the sun can vary -as I am walking and also paying attention to nature and my surroundings. * The sun should only be taken in by the eyes when it is orange or red- not when it is yellow or white.

Thanks D. So then you're not actually staring directly at the sun for a 5 to 10 minute stretch, but that you're looking at other things as well. Or do you mean that the approximate amount of time grabbing peeks at the sun during your walks actually totals to about 5-10 minutes of direct gazing at the sun?

While I am walking the sun is visible about 5-10 minutes. So during that time, I'd say maybe 10 seconds per glance. Probably no longer than a full minute of direct gazing altogether, per day. And depending on the weather, I only do this a few times per week. There was a pretty intense NASA study about this (sorry, can't link on my phone) ... but that level of commitment is a bit much for my taste! Interesting stuff though!
