This morning I woke up at 4am feeling very insecure and that something was watching me, after 15 minutes this has passed and I felt comfortable in my room. I did have a look around for anything when I woke, but could not see anything. Could this mean anything?

Likely a dream that you could not remember, or anxiety about something in your life that is not resolved. Is there any specific situation in your life that is a source of anxiety? Like a relationship, job, school etc?

Did you check for sasquatch footprints outside your window?
Seriously though, fear is natural and the feeling of being watched is common enough. By itself, it isn't an indication of paranormal activity.

This happened to me once. I could not figure out what was going on. Two days later I noticed everything in my house had been replaced with an exact duplicate. Freaky!

Is this the first time it's happened?
When sleeping the brain produces the chemical Dimethyltryptamine which is a halucinogenic (why we dream)...
During the day did you eat something different?
Did something unusual occur recently in your life?

This is not accurate.
Endogenous sources of DMT have been found in humans but not due to it being produced when when we sleep. It is also not responsible for our dreams.
