In conclusion, we have a lot of stupid people out there that need to take a Wisconsin Dells "duck" tour so they can boat past rocks like "the old man" or "lady in a rocking chair" and yell out howdy to them and get pissed when they don't respond.
Anyone here old enough to remember the old "martian face" rock which after better resolution looked like....not a face?
Oh well, every village has internet access now so instead of just one to deal with they cluster by the thousand.
NASA are such jokers. They often black-out parts of images so that one thing appears as something else.
Any artist knows you can 'make' people see something just by placing a few 'shadows' on a page and the eye and brain fills in the rest. The old hag/young girl and two people/candlestick images show this to be the case.
What they have done in this image is to place a bit of airbrushing over some structures they dont want you to see. Then someone says 'oh, that looks like a lady in a long flowing dress' and they put it out there for you all to comment on.
What you are supposed to be commenting on is the stuff they cover up or modify by adding 'shadows' where there are none. Look through the flowing dress and see the structures behind. What they are is anyones guess - Mars is an alien world and an alien race, so could be any kind of machinery/building.
By the way, like the 'bigfoot' image, this one is not very large either.

As I recall, Richard Hoagland's response was that NASA must have doctored the higher res images to make them look less like a face. Because, you know, NASA.
