I read the stories. They are good stories, maybe there's truth to them. Maybe not. Those people lost their lives unexpectedly and with great emotion and many were young and not prepared in any way for it. Asian ghosts and native american ghosts are said to be the scariest.

Where I am from in the UK there is supposedly a "phantom hitchhiker" of a young girl who was killed on the road where she has often been seen. People have reported actually stopping to give her a lift & have her get into their cars, then vanish & others have seen her sat on the back seat of their car when glancing in the rear view mirror... Not sure how true it all is, but whenever I used to drive along that section of road I would never look in the rear view mirror just incase lol

I have good close friend that has had similar experiences and I have no reason to doubt her.
Similar experiences have been recorded all over the world.

Do you have links to any of these recordings?

Like 3 years ago, I took a cab to take me to a place, but before I actually got in the taxi, I saw a little woman around her 20´s sitting on the back seat. I paid no attention to her and thought she was just another taxi user and that the driver was about to drop her off. I sat in the front seat right next to the driver, but after a while, I noticed that the driver kept on driving and never stopped to drop her off, so I asked him where he was taking the woman to and the driver looked at me very astonished and asked me, what woman? so I told him, the one in the back. The driver looked at me even more astonished and said what woman are you talking about? So, I looked back and there was nobody there. Damn, I almost died right there and then, I told the driver about the woman I had seen before and he got scared, he didn´t know what to say or do. After that, I didn´t say another word until I got dropped off and never saw that taxi cab again.

As sad as they are I LOVE these stories. Fascinating stuff, from the 70's hitchhiker encounters to the more terrifying 'Highway Sheila' stories.

Makes you wonder. Is everyone lying? Are they all hallucinating?
