I actually did just that when I lived in a haunted apartment. ''She'' laid low after I said those words. That is a story I will tell in detail on this thread when I can work up my nerve.

Real life people are creepy enough and there's no need to watch scary movies.

Well, we're not talking about scarey movies. This thread is about creepy experiences you have had in real life.

When I was in my mid-20s, I worked long hours and sometimes I was physically and mentally exhausted when I went to bed.

On those nights it was not unusual for me to see random dark "floaters" (with my eyes open) prior to falling asleep. No biggie, it was just a symptom of stress and overwork.

One Friday night after a long hard day, I was lying on my left side on the left side of the bed, room dark as usual. My room was on the 2nd floor and I had the blackout curtains pulled across the single window - again as usual - and sure enough the floaters started drifting around the room. An out-of-town friend was crashing with me for the weekend and was sleeping on her back on the right side of the bed, snoring gently.

I closed my eyes briefly then opened them and the floaters seem to have coalesced and formed what looked like a human form beside the bed. Actually it looked like a short man - although to this day I have no idea why I thought that, I was barely awake. I just remember looking at it and thinking "hmm, interesting, looks like a man standing there", with no fear because I was sure it was just a floater thing,

Then my friend said very loudly "there's someone in the room!". I glanced over my shoulder at her. She was sitting up staring at the exact spot where I was seeing the "man".
I quickly turned on the lamp and my friend was still staring at the spot but there was nothing there. I said, "no, there's no one here". She went right back to sleep and didn't remember a thing about it the next morning.

But there was no sleep for me that night. I got up, turned on the tv and the radio and every light in the apartment. In fact I never again slept in that apt. without the lights on.

I was 10 ... spent many summer days and nights with my 11 year old cousin. Aunt and uncle lived on several acres on a very rural road, neighbors far apart and only a few on the entire road. We spent our days playing in the huge tree fort, catching frogs at the pond, running around her grandparents farm, walking for miles to the country store, crossing the interstate to visit one of her great aunts, teasing the bull in the pasture across the road, and walking through the woods.

One day when walking through the woods I heard something that spooked me, felt something off to the right. The woods had horse trails, so we assumed there was a horse and rider somewhere in the vicinity. We hurried our walk that day, continuing on to our destination, then we had to go through the woods again on our way home sometime later.

About a week later my aunt called my mom, she was very upset and said she had to come over right away. She and some of my other aunts came over, they all talked to my mom for a while. Everyone was very upset and finally called me into the room. Aunt had received an anonymous letter in the mail, with cryptic writing and a newspaper clipping about kidnapped and murdered children, threatening and warning us to stay out of the woods. Whoever wrote the letter knew our names.

They never found out who wrote it and I was never allowed to spend the night there again.

Once when I was a kid I think I was some kids from my neighborhood decided to try to summon the ghost of Bloody Mary in one of their houses. So they went into the rest but I did not because I was their look out and they ran out so fast when. I asked them what happened they said nothing happened but it did because every time went over to that house things would happen in the restroom like seeing black shadow figures and the lights would turn off by themselves then the sink and shower would turn on by themselves so I would just try to avoid the restroom.

I used to sneak into the church a few blocks down from my childhood home this church was the creepiest I have ever seen because almost every week they would have aleast 5 or more funerals and I would have to walk by it with my friend because we both lived in on the same bloke. Me and her would often sneak inside for a peek and we saw somethings like a old guy looking at his own body and even a sick little boy in a hospital gown.
