Are you hearing voices? What are they telling you? If they're telling you to harm yourself or others, or that other people are bad, you have mental health issues.
Does the person meet the criteria for a psychotic disorder in DSM 5? Does hearing the voices impact the hearer's ability to function and have normal relationships, and/or are they a safety risk? If so, he/she probably qualifies for a diagnosis of mental illness and should seek professional assistance. If not, he/she is probably just hearing voices -- whatever the reason. "Normal" people sometimes hear voices, too.
Is there any difference or is it a matter of degree and quality?
So, what I am saying is... is a person who is having mental problems ALSO picking up voices from other entities BUT they are not the same quality as 'normal' people? If so, it appears to be a problem related to discernment and strength of will perhaps? 'Normal' people can maybe filter out the kooky voices and keep the high-content ones.
I think the mind is the receiver and the brain the interpreter so where does the fault lie in the system?

Some voices are malignant spirits,some are helping spirits.
it's not mental it's spiritual,some people have a broken aura and get an influx of the malignant kind of spirits.
Your intuition is sort of your souls compass you can trust it,but often malignant spirits can also interfere with the signals we get.
The only voices I get are songs,a song I had long forgotten or barely know will come to me and shed light on a current situation.I have visions more.
