A friend who served in Vietnam said back in the early 70s after his return that while he was there, you could see survey ships off the coast of Vietnam looking for oil. I think this is thought today to be a fairly new hypothesis coming from conspiracy theorists -- but I met people while the war was going on who claimed it was really about access to Vietnam's natural resources.

Was that you who posted that, a couple of years ago, when I mentioned it, or was that your friend? Has he ever posted on C-D? Someone posted about that, when I said that Eisenhower said there's oil in Vietnam, and the war in part was to protect access to it.

I don't think it was me - but it wouldn't surprise me if it was. It kind of rings a bell. Not sure if my friend is on C-D or not.

Art works, paintings! The Japanese look upon artists as magicians with a brush and paint!

Amazing, that some color on a screen can arouse so much emotion, spirituality!

Salvador Dali: the consummate magician!

Once the aliens gave intelligence to the proto-humanoids why didn't they stick around? Will they come back anytime soon?

I can't do just one. The mystery of human consciousness. Is it a product of the brain? If not, where and is it a product of the natural world or not?

What were those lights shining on my bedroom window at night in 1973? With bushes in front of the window it could not have been from the road, and I never saw them again. Too scared to get out of bed and look so remains an unsolved mystery.

I woke up and saw a shadowy figure beside my bed about 10 years ago. I thought it was my mother for a second (who was visiting me at the time) but realized soon it wasn't since this lady had long dark hair and my mother did not. She was going through my jewelry box. As I was looking at her, she faded and vanished into thin air. Hallucination? I am not prone to them. Some kind of dream when I thought I was awake? If so, one of a kind.
