In the wild, they may find love anywhere? Perhaps Mom was dog, dad was a wolf......race doesn't matter in all of the animal kingdom.
Kinda like how Homo sapiens Sapiens and Neanderthals intermingled, with a few Denisovans mixed in. They've been finding previously unknown types of hominids lately, who were contemporaneous to some degree, with so-called "modern" man. And they all didn't mind cross-breeding, too much.
At least this body didn't mysteriously disappear. Most are saying it's a wolf dog hybrid but if so, it's very unusual. There have been plenty of wolf dog hybrids and coyote wolf hybrids but none look like this one. DNA will tell us.
Probably a wolf or wolf-mix. Maybe a hybrid someone raised as a pup and became unmanageable. Easy for them to get shot since they're tame enough to get near humans, and yet wild.

The photos I've seen labeled "chupacabra" actually look more like a dog/hyena hybrid. One wonders where hyenas would come from, in North America. But there can be all manner of canid hybrids, I imagine.
