Saturn's moon, Titan, is awash in methane (it rains that hydrocarbon, there are rivers and seas of methane there). Nothing organic has ever lived there. Not sure why the fuss over methane on mars?

As I understand it, where there is none, methane is an indicator of life processes. Where there is an abundance, then obviously it is an environment in itself.
