The weirdest thing happened me to me on the way to work today. I was driving north on a parkway and it was very cloudy and overcast. All of a sudden, there were about five or six quick soft flashes of light in my car right in front of my face. These were soft light, and organic as opposed to lightning flashes. I thought for a second that it was the sun peering out of the tress (when the rays are coming at you horizontally) but there was no sun at all. It was completely overcast. There was no lightning nor were any cars near me with head lights on. I swear, this series of light blobs were inside my car and nothing of this earth had caused it. I don't know what that means but I was pretty freaked out because it really did happen and the light that surrounded me appeared to originate from inside my car.

If it were me, I'd see my doctor - flashes of light can be a symptom of retinal detachment, or a migraine headache developing.

I've occasionally had these since my cataract surgery 25 years ago. I get my eyes checked by an opthalmologist about once a year because once you've had eye surgery, it makes you more subject to retinal detachment.

Absolutely correct. Get checked. Rule out the obvious first.

Usually it is a vitreous sac detachment: https://nei.nih.gov/health/vitreous/vitreous. That should still be monitored by a professional since sometimes it does lead to the retinal detachment.

You either had a migraine, or are having an eye problem.

Please get your health checked first. Like stated above, rule out the obvious first

I don't know what happened to you, but I trust YOUR perception of YOUR experience. Sounds like City Data is not the best place to post about such incidents.
But also remember, it is YOUR life and YOUR eyesight. Please check with your doc

It may be paranormal but it also be a major medical issue. YOUR choice

I'm on the fence re paranormal. I've been through some strange things in life. Some are not explained in simple ways.

I was okay until

That's when you lost me.

i think OPs purpose in posting here first is actually to check if there could be a paranormal experience but the common response has been to get checked which I agree with.

I don't recall any paranormal experiences reported by people at all similar to OPs experience.

do you recall seeing the light blobs even during a blink? A medical condition would likely persist even when you close your eyes. The only thing that even remotely sounds simiiar would be spirits appearing as blobs, but not usually more than 1 or 2 blobs.

When I read it, I assumed you would know the difference between seeing lights from a migraine or an eye problem, and having a paranormal experience. While I admit it could be from a physical problem, it seems to me more likely you had a paranormal experience.

Can you say where you were, what time of day it was, and if there was anything else strange about the circumstances?
How long did this last? Was it like 1 second? or 10?
Did you FEEL anything? (other than fright or confusion or amazement which would be normal)
Etc.
More info please.
