Not too convincing....
Missourians have had a long history with Bigfoot.

Didn't some guy on one of the Discovery Channel programs claim he shot and killed a (juvenile?) bigfoot, then got scared and buried it?

Here is one article on one of these fakes: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/bi...n-san-antonio/. I do like the one paragraph in that article (I quote): "Serious scientific [Bigfoot] researchers are mostly a relic of the past. Today’s Bigfoot community is populated — many would say contaminated — by publicity-seeking promoters, hoaxers and self-styled Bigfoot buffs who offer perpetually fruitless weekend tours into the wilderness to look for the beast."

Someone would become world famous if they were hunting and killed a big foot either by accident or otherwise, yet nothing. It doesn't seem all that difficult to do especially if you were bear hunting and thought you were shooting at a bear from a distance.
It could be that they're all hanging out in Skamania County, Washington. Its illegal to shoot a bigfoot down there, it will get you a year in the county jail and a $1,000 fine. And there is a place on the eastern flank of Mt. St. Helens called Ape Canyon.

It is illegal in Missouri also to hunt one.

I can't figure out how that is relative to anything. Are there laws prohibiting hunting unicorns as well? Besides, hunting laws don't mean much to some people. Animals are poached every day in every state and if someone were to somehow shoot a Bigfoot in Missouri, all they would have to do is claim they thought it was a bear and or felt threatened. Who's going to prosecute someone who shoots an animal when there is no solid proof that it exists or ever existed?

When a person shoots one and goes public with it and openly states that he was hunting it then it will exist and he will get arrested. AND he has the body.

That's not really too far fetched. There was an idiot running around with a Bigfoot costume on a couple of years ago along a road after dark trying to fool people into thinking he was a bigfoot. He was struck by a car and killed.
I could see someone in the woods in that sort of a costume getting shot.
