I know everyone is afraid of the Black cat. A Black cat crosses the road in front of you.. Bad luck!! (I used to live on a street with a stray black cat. He had some kind of thing that made his neck crimped. He looked kind of scary. All he wanted was food and love. And another street had another black cat. I also had a black cat that was super muscular. He died,)

Now I have some white cats.

What is it with people and "fear of cats?" Why did the Egyptians think the cats were sneaky? Any fear of white cats, as in like White Witch and Black Witch or White Wiccan and Black Wiccan (Youtube video seems to capture what someone thinks was a White Wiccan, teleporting themselves across the forest?)

All I know about white cats is; If they're white, and have blue eyes, they're also probably deaf.

That's it. lol

I know what you mean about the superstition though. When I was a teenager, I had a little black cat. He was a little sweetie, but I used to have weird and kind of scary dreams about him fairly often. (shrug shoulders.)

I'm not afraid of black cats. I do feel bad for the ones at the shelter though. For illogical reasons, people stigmatize them. When will we get past this sort of superstition?

Myths on cats, in particular solid black and white go back centurys; some of those myths still adopted today, and not familar enough with Wicca to speak to their beliefs on the subject. They're all special creatures, imo. Color genetic, like the human race. I dont label them either.

Funny; one of my kitties, his eyes I think are green but appear blue-ish to me... He is a mute (he can't talk!) I never thought he may be deaf...!!!!

(And, of course, my "kitties" are full-grown adult cars. They must all be almost 7 by now, maybe older. I am a Cat Dad; also parakeets, I have them in the other room.)

I've gotten over the "13" and "broken mirror" superstitions.. BUT, I am also a Cat Dad. The black kitties are so cute! And i've never been afraid of my white cats. I wonder about Casper, sometimes. Lost in thought LOL

I sing every morning, after we all wake up: "Three White cats. Three White cats" to the tune of "Three blind mice" (people still don't know that all our Brit-sourced nursery rhymes were about horrible disasters like the Bubonic Plague and "London Bridge is falling down..")

I've heard accounts from one black cat owner that black cats are some of the friendlier bunch out there amongst the kitty world.

Black cats gets the bad rap because they were associated with witches. Witches likes black cats so they're marked for life.
