I watched this over my Christmas vacation. Coincidental that someone should post about it on here. I enjoyed the lecture a lot. I didn't know that NPD had a special office for this sort of thing. On one hand, it would be a fun job to have, but on the other hand, it sounds like they are bringing bad things onto themselves. Being followed by an entity that throws coins at them and telling them to die. It twists my stomach just to think about it.

Insofar as the strange nocturnal lights, that does happen frequently on the reservation. Navajos call them Ch'iidii Biko' (Fire of Ghost) or Na'achiih (Something Red Going About). For this reason, Navajo cradleboards have a hoop over the baby (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cradle...adle_board.jpg). When one travels with a baby at night, always cover the cradleboard hoop with a light blanket, so the baby cannot see. If the baby (or anyone) sees one of these lights, things can get dangerous. The baby cannot talk or tell anyone about what it saw, so nobody knows that the proper ceremonies need to be initiated.

Well, I must confess, They convinced me! I've never seen any law enforcement people not only discuss such things, but document them, and keep a file on them! And call out UFO specialists from the city, and other search specialists, and even follow up on their recommendations. ("Check for magnetic anomalies", and so forth.).

I also wonder why there seem to be so many UFO-type occurrences out on the Navajo Rez. Because it's remote, and sparsely populated, relatively? Are there a similar number of occurrences in other sparesely-populated parts of Az, but they don't get documented? What about Death Valley and Nevada?

I don't think it's limited to the Navajo Rez. I think it's everywhere. Maybe because of the lack of electricity (less light pollution; less people watching tv or cell phones), there are greater opportunities to observe on the rez, perhaps? I know when I was a kid, we used to lay under the stars and look at them and talk. Sometimes, we told jokes. Other times, my grandma told us stories of long ago. The stars are brilliant, and there is an order to them. It's so beautiful.

People all over NM do stargazing, too, but this kind of thing isn't reported. It probably has something to do with the fact that the Rez has its own rangers, that people know they can call to report something unusual, and they know they won't get laughed at or dismissed. So there's more reporting, and the reporting gets taken seriously and investigated, documented and filed.

That still doesn't explain it all, though.

Why only US deserts get UFOs sightings? Do aliens find only America interesting enough to visit? There are also deserts in Africa, Chile, China, Australia, etc. My guess is people in those countries are too busy working to put food on the table.

Maybe the Australian desert does get UFO sightings, but the Aborigines aren't talking.

Maybe Mongolia and Kazakhstan get sightings, but how would we know?

I don't know....smart phones, Facebook, Youtube, etc. We don't live in the dark ages anymore. Anyone with credible information/video evidence of strange phenomenons would be an instant online celebrity. Who wouldn't want that?

Was there any video evidence? Was any of those investigated and reported on major news outlets? If they were, I must have missed it, 'cause I have never heard any.
