Creepy as hell, but no, I don’t think it has anything to do with the paranormal. Maybe you’re thinking it might be connected to those animals with missing organs they keep finding in Wyoming or Montana. I think it’s probably people offing themselves, maybe getting eaten by sharks or other sea creatures or possibly a serial killer.

I believe some of the Missing 411 stories about disappearances in National Forests include some with trainers being left on top of a rock in the middle of nowhere or something like that. Cannot really remember but I have that kind of feeling there was something wierd to do with trainers...
If anyone is interested in that stuff, there is an issue with people wearing bright orange/yellow hiking jackets being attacked when the last in a line of walkers on a trail. It seems something is irritated by the color and it flags as an attack trigger.
This explanation makes sense, but why aren't shoes with feet washing up in other places?
