I finally got around to watching the "Green Fireballs" episode. It was one of the more obscure ones in my opinion but that's probably because I've never heard of it. There's some background information on it at the History website: https://www.history.com/news/ufos-gr...ies-new-mexico

I may have to look again, but I believe they had the setting in Nevada where nuclear tests were being carried out (testing to see what impact the explosions would have on various communties at varying distances, for one thing), while the "green fireballs" were primarily in New Mexico near/at Los Alamos.

I saw the Atomic Kid in the theater with my grandmother when I was seven (1954) - here's the scene with the test village - the village in Green Fireballs reminded me of it:

Never saw that movie. I think the test village in Blue Book was a bit more elaborate than the real test village(s).

FYI, Project Blue Book has been renewed for a second season.

My opinion of it hasn't changed - a lot like the early X-Files, and as a fan of that show I really enjoyed Blue Book. The Hynek character will remind you of Mulder a bit, and Quinn is sort of the Scully of the series. The lesbian flirtation still annoys me - it's gratuitous IMO.

Yes, there seems to be no point to it and it's apparently not even close to be historically accurate. It takes away from the program.

I'm looking forward to the next season. Not sure when it will start, but they can't make new episodes overnight.
