So this morning, I was rushing to work when across the valley, I saw something very strange. I live on the edge of a gentle sloping mesa on the northeastern side of a valley. To the south, the valley is about 15 to 20 miles wide, depending on where you look. From my house, when you look to the southwest, you'll see the valley leading up to another mesa. On the edge of that mesa, there are two neighborhoods, near each other but 5 miles apart. At night, I can see their house lights, dim yellow twinkly lights, small in the vast landscape. This morning, across the valley, I saw the familiar yellow lights of the two neighborhoods. Behind a hill from both neighborhoods, to the west of them, I saw a very bright, white light. As far away as it was, it looked like an led lamp up close, so bright and luminous. I stared at it for half a minute, wondering where the light came from and what it did there. I was in a rush, so I did not bother to go back inside and dig out out the binoculars. I noticed the light had a vertical length to it. From my distance, I saw that the bright light stood out above the horizon, that it had considerable height, as if it's a bright, glowing tower. I wondered if it was a drilling rig, but drilling rigs only have lights here and there. This tower glowed in its entirety. Strange.

My guess is it was a drone.

Could it have been a tower with morning light shining on it in a new way as the sun changes position through the seasons? Can you get the binoculars and see if there is a tower or other structure there normally? Very interesting.

I saw the tower again two nights ago. This time, I looked through binoculars. I found a very bright light at the base of the tower. The tower had 4 square lights equally spaced from top to bottom. I saw a blue neon light going down the side of the tower, but I think this is glare from the cold weather and binocular lenses (fogging, etc). I pinpointed it in the darkness, and the next day, I looked at the location through binoculars again. In the daylight, it looked like well drilling equipment with cars and equipment parked all around. I don't know why they were working at night because the nights are very cold: 2 degrees, 7 degrees, etc. So, I identified my weird glowing tower.
