Turkey Vulture can have a 6' wingspan and an albatross can have a 12' wingspan. Not sure this is out of the realm of a bird.

As far as I know the albatross has not been seen in the Great Lake area; but I could be wrong.

Vultures have been seen and Eagles and Owls also live in that area; which also have large wing spans. I just feel that many of these large bird sightings come about because it is hard to tell the actual distance to the bird from on the ground. I had a turkey buzzard fly just a few feet over my head when I was young and it seemed like a prehistoric Pteranodon! It's scary when these large birds get too close!

Black Vultures have come to the USA and they are aggressive. They will and have attacked cattle while having a calf halfway out.

The gregarious black vulture roosts, feeds, and soars in groups, often mixed with turkey vultures. A carrion feeder that will bully a turkey vulture away from a carcass, it occasionally kills smaller live prey. Polytypic (3 ssp.; nominate in North America). Length 25"; wingspan 57".

Yes, I agree with you on this too, they can create a pretty good hoax with drones, but there are a few things they cannot do (that many UAPs can), like vanishing into thin air, taking off at incredible speeds, hard angular turns, and most importantly, SIZE...ID love to see a hoaxer create a drone the size of a football field and try to fool people into believing its a UAP!

In 1890, Arizona newspaper The Tombstone Epitaph reported that two ranchers had allegedly killed a “winged monster”, similar to an “alligator”, in the desert between the Whetsone and Huachuca mountains.
In July 2015, two people in Nevada reported seeing a creature that reminded them of a pterosaur, a flying reptile believed to have gone extinct about 65 million years ago.
Two weeks later, a minister and her daughter claimed to have seen an unidentified flying creature that looked like it was “straight out of Jurassic Park”.
In August 2015, a man in Michigan claimed to have seen a “giant bird” with a 10-foot wingspan.
In April 2015, a Louisiana man claimed to have seen a similar flying creature he believes was responsible for cow mutilations in 1978.
The following month, another person came forward stating he had seen a dinosaur-like bird at a public park about 50 miles northwest of Tucson, Arizona.
In 1927, a similar event reportedly took place in the Australian town of Fernvale when a few giant birds visited the area, causing panic among the town’s residents.
Ive actually read the account of that incident in Fernvale Australia, Im not sure what it is they saw, it doesnt sound like anything that exists today.

Ive also seen that newspaper article from the late 1890s (or a similar one), again, its hard to guess at what they were seeing.

If these things still exist today...whats the point in trying to make people believe they do not? Theres nothing to really 'hide or suppress' like there is with aliens/UFOs, its just a type of prehistoric bird...but a bird nonetheless.
