Sometimes visiting this forum I think we've never progressed forward from the dark ages....

These aren't demons (obviously). It's parasomnia, a sleep disorder that happens during the transition between REM sleep, and more common then you think.
That causes are pretty complex. I would start looking here on sleep paralysis and do some reading on it, then read more:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis

If it's that serious as you state you need to go to a medical specialist and get tested for narocolepsy.

That would probably torture the poor guy trying to get to sleep.

The demons are not on your feet, they are in your mind.

I think it is really strange how sometimes people attribute mainly a paranormal cause and sometimes they attribute a physical cause to the problems posted on here. We have had very similar experiences reported on here and although folks do mention physical causes they mostly point to ghosties of some kind.

Most of us cannot see ghosties with our physical eyes, but it does not mean there is nothing there, it just means we cannot perceive it with physical sensors. As we fall asleep, different sensors come into play.

What sensors would those be, and how do they work? Can I review their existence in Gray's Anatomy, or other journals whose content has survived the Scientific Method?

OP, my Aunt, at about age 84, would wake up from sleep and see "giant spiders" on the walls of her bedroom. They were anthropomorphic, meaning they would make eye contact with her, and then duck behind the furniture when she sat up in bed - they would interact with her. You could simply not convince her that she was dreaming.

She is now in the Memory Unit of a nursing home with dementia. I don't want to frighten you, but you need to see your physician immediately for a full evaluation, don't hold back anything you have been experiencing. Your future health may depend on it. You do NOT need to contact Ghostbusters.

I totally agree. Go the orthodox route first.

However, there are probably many people (religious and otherwise) who hear voices in their head, and we do not have enough room for all of these people in mental hospitals. So..what is going on? I suggest that orthodox medicine can only explain voices in the head as a psychosis or a condition of some kind. But, orthodox medicine does NOT understand consciousness at all, [sarcasm]they are so good at judging this is a mental condition and that is not[/sarcasm].

People who are experiencing abductions are scared they will be placed in mental hospitals, but there are many of these people. Can they ALL be crazy and suffering from mental delusions? Mental health professionals would probably say yes because they dont understand the scale of the phenomena.

As a society, it seems we are making life-changing judgements with insufficient knowledge and information.

As far as sensors go, it is well known that some people have access to 'feelings' and knowledge that other people do not have. Some are good at it and some are terrible at it, yet it cannot be explained by science. Occult history says we have access to sensory information when we are in that place between waking and sleeping. Good luck with finding that in scientific journals.

I really need some help soon. Thank you for your time.
When we lived in my last house, I would feel like someone was choking me while I slept. I woke up, no one was on top of me. I swear that house was haunted. Parts of the house used to be very cold, even in the summer. When we moved it never happened again.

My neighbor in the next house over had weird stuff happen in her house too.

We found out that someone in the house directly across from us blew their brains out.

It sounds like something to do with the nerve endings in your feet. Also, have you had a blood sugar test lately?
