Just wondering what you lot think is the best state in terms of paranormal encounters? Washington has bigfoot, the south west (Arizona, New Mexico) has skinwalkers and UFOs and high strangeness in general but what state is the best for encountering paranormal phenomena?

The states with the oldest buildings, the age increases the odds because so much more has happened there. Here in WA we do have some experiences, ours was in Port Townsend, the Palace Hotel built in 1889. I would expect the NE states and Civil War plantations to be the best choices. With all of the people hunting for a bigfoot and no real evidence I would stick to looking for the more ghostly encounters.

It seems that any place is good because the Earth is full of weird and wonderful energy moving across the surface and through the ground.

Those sensitive enough will probably tell you there are vortices, and other areas of energy which the ancients knew about and cover all states (and probably the sea as well). These can be detected with dowsing either on a map or on the ground if you dont know where they are, but internet searches will bring up places to investigate.

The evidence for this is that most states have areas where strange things have been reported, such as at the Parker Ranch, Skinwalker ranch, Brown Mountain, vortices, etc. Places where the dimensions are thinned, disappearances, or bases where ET is doing stuff.

In my opinion, people who tell us that Bigfoot does not exist are probably working for the government as any rational investigator will look at the evidence out there and conclude some folks have had encounters with hairy creatures which are NOT bears walking on hind legs or people asking to get shot by dressing up in gorilla suits.

Wisconsin has some good stuff. The Beast of Bray Road, the Lake Michigan Triangle, a lake monster in Devil's Lake, lots of UFO reports.

Paul, when are you going to get tired of accusing those of us who disagree with your claims agents of the government? You've been doing this for years, and it's offensive and tiresome.

Above are some options. There are haunted tours in Louisiana, mostly in New Orleans. Any US Civial war major battle field is another good location.

They're all probably about equal.
Every state has thousands upon thousands of paranormal reports of all kinds.
It would take an intensely comprehensive study to determine the answer.

Well-known exorcist Malachi Martin stated on several occasions that the two hotbeds of demon possession are Brooklyn, NY and Louisville, Ky.
