I really liked that show! Wish they'd bring it back. I certainly recall seeing one episode with some type of weird creature crossing a family's lawn on video. The team couldn't replicate it no matter how hard they tried, plus their equipment kept malfunctioning.

There's a YouTube channel called "billschannel" that covers a wide variety of strange and weird subjects found on the internet and tries to determine if it's real or fake. His approach seems to be one that's aimed mostly at young kids, but he keeps it simple and interesting all the same. He also talks with experts to help better understand the subjects. Sometimes things are real, sometimes they're fake, and sometimes the answer is unknown. The channel is both interesting and entertaining.

There's a social phenomena about creating a myth or paranormal legend and then seeing if it gets taken seriously in the media and culture. Slenderman and the hat man were two examples. I guess this is another attempt. Mass hysteria is related to it.

Yes, that sounds like the episode I was thinking of. The program lasted two or three seasons I believe, and is rerun every once in a while. Not sure if it's available On Demand or not.

That is not really a myth or legend though, as plenty of people have had encounters with them.
