I think it sounds like a great idea, though having it set up like a sub-forum within the Unexplained Mysteries and Paranormal Category might make more sense, for the reasons already mentioned previously.

As someone whose interest in the paranormal is mainly focused upon spirits/ghosts, I lack any interest in in Bigfoot/Alien/Cryptid topics. When I hear of a Bigfoot sighting, it feels no more remarkable to me than hearing a new species of grizzly bear has been discovered.

As for aliens, the topic bores me, oddly enough – but that may be due to having been raised on Star Trek episodes, which perhaps worked to de-sensationalize them in my psyche (?). As far as I'm concerned, they're citizens of another 'country' in the galaxy, so the topic doesn't really creep me out or anything, let's put it that way.

Meanwhile, ghosts and spirits? I'm there! Can't get enough.

I don't know how vBulletin works, but on the forums I've run (small, free forum-types), it's fairly simple for the powers-that-be to set up new categories and sub-forums within the structure. Assuming vBulletin is pretty much the same, it should be fairly easy for the CD forum super-moderators to establish a Bigfoot Sub-forum within the Unexplained Mysteries and Paranormal Category. Heck, establishing separate sub-forums for the other topics might be helpful, like this:

Unexplained Mysteries and Paranormal (Main Category)
-Ghosts and Spirits
-Bigfoot
-Cryptids
-Aliens

Tallysmom, if you need support (in us all sending messages and asking supermods for subforums) then we can do that if you think it will add weight to the cause? But...yes, you do do a good job in keeping us in line. :-)

So, the solution is obvious: Tallysmom needs to be promoted to "supermod." I think we should start a petition.

I also think a sub-forum would be the best way to go. Is there a process by which we can request one? I think one massive Bigfoot super-thread would become ungainly.

As far as I know, they look at threads and decide if a sub forum is needed.
