Astrology - Zodiac Signs How, why do you use it ..... Post / your sign

This thread is to explore what use Zodiac - Astrology signs are for use in putting people into categories and how that ability might be used in every day life. Some crude attempt might be had to identify C-D poster by a sign and then see if you believe they match those characteristic as normally published in many sources from their opinions or posts.

Plus how it might be used to match or pair people with each other or assign them a particular type job or task?

Or whatever use the science / art might be employed.

As a Christian, I try to avoid this stuff. Although, I am an Aries, and a lot of what it says does seem to fit my personality.

• Can the general idea of Astrology / Zodiac signs be used for matching people for selecting mates
• Can the general idea of Astrology / Zodiac signs be used for assigning people to work tasks or selecting a career path
• Can people override Zodiac characteristics gained via birth by training or changes to habit during a lifetime
• How do the basic characteristics change over a lifetime, is it primarily determined by birth or experience.
• Is there such a thing as a natural skill gained by birth in a particular sign
• Is there any scientific bases for any Astrology system
• What is the history of Astrology
• Can Horoscopes be developed and used, is there any bases
• Is there any positive benefit from understanding this entire area

I think it's a bunch of hokum. I'm an Aries, but never read the horoscope. I wouldn't know what my characteristics are supposed to be. My opinion is that you might as well base your personal characteristics on the tide or the weather during your conception. Each of those is just as valid as whether Jupiter is in my house, or if the moon occluded my sign.

I'm a Libra. Librans are supposed to always seek balance, and they love to have a beautiful home. Uh... My "home" (2-br apartment) is cluttered with books and CDs! The furniture doesn't match. Hardly any pictures on the walls!

Oh, and Librans are supposedly only happy when they're married or in a relationship. That doesn't apply to me, either!

I think the entire Zodiac should be used - not just your sun sign, but your moon, and where the other planets are. I have a lot of Scorpio in my chart, including the moon. FYI, where the moon was when you were born is supposed to denote your emotional reaction to the world around you. I just found this on the Net: "Scorpio Moon folks are known to grapple with themselves on the inside. They typically experience all emotions extremely, deeply and totally - ecstasy, sorrow, elation... and yes, their tempers, when provoked, can be explosive. To complicate matters, Scorpio Moon people regard their own emotions as a source of vulnerability and therefore try to keep their true feelings under wraps." Well, I can agree with keeping my true feelings under wraps, but I'm not usually very intense emotionally.

My stepmother swears by this, but I don't really know why. I think that your view of the world is shaped mostly by your experiences (family love or the lack thereof, for example), and a little bit by heredity.

Astrology is interesting, but anyone who bases their entire life around it is a bit whacked, in my opinion.
