I fail to see any way that a false illusion or image could have had a coat put on it . . . just saying. You would be better advised to assert mass hallucination, false memory, embellishment or outright fabrication than to allege mental disorder. |

I wouldn't call pareidolia any of those things either. It's more a matter of seeing patterns or shapes in things and objects that we make a mental association with other things we know about and recognize, like seeing boats in clouds, a face in rocks, or seeing a humanlike figure because of the pattern of light and shadow on a particular surface, etc. |
