Quite a few Welsh people seem to have black hair, like Tom Jones or Katherine Zeta-Jones, and some of them seem to have a 'look.' Can you sometimes identify a Welsh person simply by how they look?

I am not aware that Tom Jones has or ever had black hair.

They all look like me - dark and handsome - and are unbelievably charming too, except the ones who aren't. Bit on the short side, though, except the rugby team. We have a special breeding programme for them, but, on current form, I fear they have outgrown their strength!

NO.

Welsh people just look the same as English, Scots and Northern Irish people.

Some are fat ,some are bald and some are skinny. just like the rest of the UK.

Why do people start these pointless threads.

There's been so much intermingling over the centuries that it would be impossible to identify somebody as Welsh by their look, but when I was at university in North Wales I noticed there were a lot more shorter, stockier and black-haired people than you'd generally see in southern England. You get more people like that in the north of England as well though, so it's far from unique to them.

Do white australians look English or Scottish?

If you want to seriously see any regional differences in looks then I recommend looking at a roster of a British football team (players are usually listed by nationality).

I see regional differences in looks amongst states and regions of states where I live (Kentucky, USA) and this area has only been settled 300 years. To say you couldn't see subtle differences in looks in long settled Europe is absurd.

Here is a roster w/ pics of the Cardiff City Bluebirds.

Really? I'd say you see more dark-haired, vaguely Iberian looking people in the South. Most Northerners seem to have pale skin, blonde or light brown hair and blue eyes. The Nigella Lawson or John Cleese look doesn't seem very common in Yorkshire among native English people.

It's been shown the Welsh have largely remained a distinct genetic population, much more Celtic than other areas. Hence it's not surprising they would tend to look different. Many Welsh people themselves have commented on this.
