Is problem with heating existing everywhere in UK?
I don’t know, may be this is stupid question, but is it everywhere in UK problem with heating? Many my friends who moved here from other countries (from East of from West) have the same problems. Crazy cold not outside, inside!!! I feel like England doesn’t know what is heating systems? I feel like I have moved 100 years behind.
Before I lived in the Midwest, and the temperature there sometimes drops -35 C. There is extremely cold, but I have never felt so cold inside like in accommodations. All apartments in Midwest had central heating system, where inside apartment I could be in underwear without some jackets, winter pants or sweaters. And there was – 35 outside.
Here in UK the houses built like this is not North Country, like this is Florida or California. Almost none of my friends have central heating, instead some crazy electrical units which consume a lot of electricity and not very efficient. Majority of flats or houses have single glazing. I am shocked who built this houses/apartments. Buy the way I live in the new remodeled flat!
If I go to the store, or other common buildings here are always cold inside, like the heat does not exist in England!
What is going on in this country? Does anybody fell the same or is it only my problem?
I don't know. May be it is only my problem, but many friends had the same problems. May be this winter is too cold, how many degrees inside in your house?
I think people from abroad must live in cheap or very odd places. Everywhere I go is warm except for two houses, and that is a matter of choice with their hardy owners.

I think this is correct. Most people do this. But it is depended to what you comparing. For example currently I pay 400 pounds and I believe this is enough to have good heating J
I'm from the UK and never had a problem with heating homes EXCEPT when the heating was faulty.... Is there air trapped in the radiators that is stopping them from heating properly? Ask someone to show you how to 'bleed' the radiators if you have them.... or check out the thermostat. It might not be working properly.....
My grandparents house was badly insulated and the windows let the cold in but that was over 30 years ago.... When I go to my Mum's place I always have the opposite problem and start opening windows because its too hot there....
Rented? Most modern buy-to-let landlords have decent standards and refit their houses when buying them cheap. Maybe you need to check out the heating system before signing the rental contract, or have a word with your letting agent.
