Here in the U.S., there have been articles claiming that teen pregnancy rates have gone down quite a bit.

To be fair, pregnancy and promiscuity are not the same thing.
With free contraception in the UK, not everyone get pregnant.

As a teenager of the 1980s, the majority of my school always wore a condom. There was this new deadly STD going around that they didn't know much about. It's now called aids. Birth control pills or implants will not help to prevent catching STDs. Condoms not only help to prevent STDs, it's over 98% effective at preventing pregnancy. Another reason why we didn't have teenage pregnancies in our school at today's rate was responsibility. We knew we couldn't afford to raise a kid. Today's youth don't have to worry about this because their parents and the government will help pay for them
