I am happy for Prince William and Miss Middleton. I am curious though, how do most British feel about her not being of the aristocracy? I personally don't have a problem with it. It seems that they both are very happy and that he chose from his heart.
Thanks and Congratulations on your future King's wedding!

Sorry to disappoint you kate, but as the previous poster said, I really don't think that the majority of Brits care too much for the whole thing.

We do not spend our time wondering about the Royal succession or other such matters.

Roll on Saturday.

I dont really find the whole thing excited, but i do think Kate is stunning and will fit nicely into the old Diana roll.

With Parliament being the decision maker in this country now, the Royal Family hardly have a part to play, and the wedding is at cost of the tax payer.

Good luck to them but i will be spending the day in bed as its my first day off work since Saturday.

I personally am outraged that a member of the Hoi Polloi will be sneaking her way into a bloodline that is supposed to be determined by Divine Providence, not by the deviousness of some little tramp!

most of my British friends and family are very excited about the wedding.... they had a 4 day weekend last week and get another one this weekend...... most of the ones with spare cash left the country taking the chance for a 2 week holiday using up minimal amounts of annual leave.... will they be watching the wedding - I doubt it - Me - I couldn't care less..... I'll just be glad when its not on the TV in the gym whilst I'm on the running machine......

My employer is paying me £120 for not being at work on the big day.

My daughter is interested in watching a princess get married.

I will be assembling shelving units.

To sum it up, it is because there is no clear distinction between a regular person and a member of the aristocracy, so it doesn't make any difference.

Its a brilliant move by the Royal Family IMHO. Just look at the enthusiastic scenes in London. In one fell swoop they have enhanced the popularity of the monarchy while making it look more modern. When it comes to politics they don't come much more savvy than the Queen.
