I'm from the west side, although I grew up in the north of Glasgow. I moved to south west of London in 1971, still there today
Dizzy's my pal She's a great wee photographer and there's not much she doesn't know about the history of the East End of Glasgow.
Scotslass, I don't know how our paths haven't crossed before, between my relations in Andalucia & my brother lives in Mississippi We're planning to go over there again to see him soon
Nope, not a Jags supporter. Took my nick from a Billy Connolly skit .... Jaggy Bunnet.
Grew up just off Byres Rd. But it was very different then to the way it is now.
Yes I agree Jaggy001 it is very different! I visted Byres Road last September for the first time years. We went to a quaint little place called Ashton Lane, loved it, never knew it existed in the 60's

It existed. But the only things in the lane in those days was a betting shop and a dry cleaners. Same with the other lanes. As kids, the lanes were where we played.
So my marriage is over, yet my STBX wife still thinks she can leech off me. The US is a beautiful country, but I have never fit in here. I don't even have a single acquaintance, never mind a friend. I only really came here because of my wife. I planned on moving elsewhere in the EU before I met her.
I left Blighty in January 2004. I have not been back since, but I am giving serious thought to going home a I am desperately unhappy and alone here, plus I have health issues that I cannot afford to take care of and debts in my name that were caused by her.
So what are the pros and cons? Will I notice any significant changes in the UK? Should I stay here in the US and count the blessings that have eluded me as of today, or should I hop on the next BA direct flight and eagerly await kissing the ground when I touch down at LHR or LGW?
Britain & mainland Europe: I miss you.

You have been talking about this for a while on here so maybe it is time to pull the trigger.
Do you have a Green Card? If so, you can stay out of the USA for up to a year. So, if it doesn't work out in the UK, you can always come back.
