I left just after the debacle last year only to land in Chicago (which had record blizzards), which is busier than Heathrow and it was running without delays. Now O'hare is used to it, but like you say, after last year you would have thought they may have a snow machine or two ready for use??? What would happen if a foot or more of snow fell?

Just gotta correct you on the busiest airports thing. O'Hare is just behind Heathrow:
World's busiest airports by passenger traffic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
While I'm certainly not excusing how badly the UK often deals with even the slightest amount of snow, they're pros at dealing with it in the American Midwest, where severe snowfall occurs not only once, but several times a year. Aside from the odd cold snap, Britain's winters are tame in comparison, although here in the northeast US, it's been a fairly mild winter with only 2 instances of snowfall more than 3 inches.

Hello ol chap! Its been very mild here (Chicago) by normal standards too - its been in the 50's all week!!
Anyway, not that it matters (and this is just for a bit of fun) - and being as I don't like to be wrong...
Wikipedia is not the best source of information, so I went ahead and found several others that confirm O'Hare being busier by traffic numbers

The numbers are for Jan-Oct 2011...the most current available.
You have to factor in that the US has far more domestic air travel as more people tend to fly to get from A to B due to the huge distances between cities. I've flown through Chicago O'Hare once and I was impressed though. Heathrow could learn a lot from the monorail system that connects the terminals, but few airports can beat Heathrow for it's vast array of amenities (shops, bars, etc). Heathrow still handles far more international passengers, but Chicago is a major hub and the total numbers are pretty close either way.
The weather has been VERY mild here...so much for the dreaded New England winters!

Vegas...nice. Been there once, 10 years ago! Just be prepared for the summers! I actually lived in Florida for a while and part of the reason for moving up here was to get back to seasonal weather as I actually prefer the cold.
I'll be watching the SB tonight even though I don't understand American football at all. At least City won yesterday!

"4 chances (downs) to make 10 yards" is all you need to think about...
Enjoy.

I'm not against trying to get into a new sport. It would be easier if I knew the rules though!

Anyone watch Top Gear and see Richard Hammond in the NASCAR car?
On subject of snow seems like the NE has got off lightly with 1-2 inches in low lying areas.
