Things that I would miss from England:

Cadbury's chocolate.
Those delicious Marks & Spencer Rounds.
British Bacon
British Architecture.
Swans on the Thames.
The ground not moving beneath my feet.
The West End.
The London Eye at sunset.
Good cheese shops.

Things I wouldn't miss:

British Sausages - How we manage to make them both greasy and dry, I will never know.
A proper fry-up - Beans for breakfast. Really, we in Britain need to not do this any more. Heresy, I know.
Burberry - Anyone in Britain knows why.
Hosepipe bans during massive flooding because it's 'Not the right kind of rain'.

The only news from the UK that gets reported in the US is usually related to the royal family. Although to be honest that's the sum of all news reported in the US about anything outside the US. Still rather this than the fawning BBC or Xenophobic Sky. Between hating Europeans because they are different and loving the royals because we are sheep it's a sad indictment. I still think the UK has a better culture than the US but if we could remove Euro hatred, Royal worshipping, the Premiership and the Daily Mail/Sun we'd be a much better country. The weather would still be utterly dismal though :-(

Leave the Premiership alone! I also love the British weather.

I agree with the Euroskepticism though....highly annoying. We are NORTHERN EUROPEAN in culture, whether people like it or not. We have much in common with our neighbours, particularly with the other Germanic countries. As for the Daily Mail, I wouldn't use it to wipe my arse, even if I ran out of toilet paper and had no alternatives.

The premiership doesn't exactly ruin my day the way the weather does. The weather in the South East isn't as terrible as the rest I guess but I saw more sun here in February than I have in a year in the UK.

Is that a reference to earthquakes or an indictment of the English as lovers?

What is wrong with Burberry? It's considered upscale in America. Oh and what are "chavs" that I've been hearing about? I could easily look it up on Google I suppose, but probably won't.

Go to Youtube and look up 'In me Burberry'. That will answer both your question about Burberry and Chavs.

The only place i ever see Euro hatred is in the press and you highlighted two of the largest culprits perfectly..... I would love to get rid of the "Daily Moan" and "The Sun". Although to be honest the standard of the British printed media is on the whole pretty poor.

Most Days i scan 5 papers online and only one of those is British. The others are US, German, Russian and Australian. It can give some nice varied views on the same articles.
