British and Irish look closer to australians, new zelanders, anglo-canadians and to white americans (at least the majority of them). Thats all regarding physical appearance.
Now about Europe I dont really think any european country is really close in physical appearance to british, but probably the most similar people you can find to The British/Irish among europeans are in northern france (brittany) and Belgium (specially wallonia).

A blond Cornish male. According to a study done on people of England, the frequency of blonde hair in the county of Cornwall is 30%.
Maybe they considered lightbrown in the category blond. Blonde hair in cornwall (scandinavian and germanic sense) must be 10-15% tops among 20+ years old population. Children are of course always blonder than that
By the way Florence colgate is your typical bottle blond british women.

Firstly, we have to put in mind that the ancestors of the people of Great Britain and Ireland hailed from an area ranging from Bretagne/Britanny all the way to Norway. In fact these areas make-up northwestern Europe, so we can expect looks from all those areas to be found in Britain. Blonde hair isn't the only hair colour found in other parts of Northern Europe though it's quite common, brown hair is common there too. It's completely normal for many Whites in former British colonies to look British.
Scandinavian-looking Brits similar to Norwegians.
Dark types from other parts of Northern Europe similar to 'Mr Bean' are
Poirot from Belgium.
A dark German
dark type from Belgium
So dark hair is not only limited to Britain as you were saying.
Here is an English family from southern Britain where blonde hair is common as anywhere in Northern Europe. there is so much evidence, traveller 86.
According to you, they all bleach it, if they are British, right.

Loool you do understand that this man is an English actor playing a Belgian don't you?????
I'm talking about proportions, It isnt as common to see a italian/spanish borderline looking type in most of germany as it is in britain. In the same way many more germans could pass as eastern europeans than british people would.
