It's possible. Imagine working a nurses' station with all the trauma going on and having your mind focused on taking care of patients. Suddenly the phone rings and it is supposedly the Queen. I can see the nurse thinking it is true. The hospital was deluged with the press and phone calls.
The death of this nurse is outrageous. The call went viral on the net and on the telly. I'm sure she felt like she had let down the hospital and the royals. I feel so sorry for this woman. What a loss and what a waste of a good, giving, caring person.
I won't be surprised if they find all kinds of nasty messages posted on FB or Twitter that she might have seen. The humiliation of having this made public would've been bad enough but there always some spiteful, self-righteous little s**** who think driving the knife in deeper is a great thing to do.
I don't see how this is the fault of the 'royals'. The Duchess was a patient at the hospital. It is not her responsibility or that of the 'royals' to run the hospital.
I did not say it was the fault of the royals. Where did you come up with that?
In fact, the royals did not file a complaint or even verbally complain about the nurse. As usual, they took it in step and did not bother anyone about it. Of course it is in no way their fault.
Perhaps the hospital threatened to fire the nurse, and she became despondent. Facing the prospect of losing one's job, especially in this economy, can push one over the edge. I hope those pranksters are happy, what a "cute" little joke!
By her name, Jacintha Saldanha, this Nurse seems to be from South India. It should be investigated whether Hospital Management decided to terminate her from the job because of prank call and then she decided to end her life. Foreign workers have a lot to lose, things like visa are tied to their jobs, and she took extreme step. Very sad!!!!!
She had to be in an extraordinarily fragile state-of-mind to have killed herself, leaving two children behind, over this. It's an extreme reaction to something that would have been forgotten within days.
Especially if neither the royals nor the hospital threatened or chastised her in any way.

I agree that it should be investigated, but the article says the hospital didn't threaten her.
Could this be a cultural thing? Would such an extreme reaction be more common in India? Is royalty very elevated in India? If so, she may have considered her mistake unforgivable.
Just throwing out questions.
