Dysons are mostly made in China, and are over-priced and over-rated IMO. Henry vacuums, OTOH, are made in the UK, work great, are tough as old boots, and don't cost the earth. They are by far the most popular brand for professional cleaners, builders, and decorators.
TBH, while there is plenty of decent stuff made in Britian, I can't imagine there are many things of which there is not some fairly equal equivalent in the US. Possible exceptions could be luxury cars and whisky.
Old British motorcycles didn't have a good reputation in the U.S. I guess we Yanks didn't know how to take care of them, driving them in the desert and all that!

Didn't know that! But I have a Henry lol. Just always thought Dysons were the best, I wouldn't pay that price though.
The original question was is 'Made in the UK' a sign of (high) quality? The straight answer is that in itself 'No'.
