A misconception.

It refers to the World's Championship Series.

I'm sure that someone will put me right but World was the sponsor- can't remember if they were a newspaper or what.

This thread is about Scotland and England. Since I live in the UK I am bombarded by the BBC when England wins cricket, and they go on and on with their whining when England loses cricket.

Of course - over 80% of the UK's population reside in England, and cricket is a sport that only has significant interest in England. Scotland excels in rugby, and England, Scotland and Wales all get equal coverage during rugby matches. Not to worry though Ameriscot - they have regional BBC News so you don't have have to contend with it.

Well maybe the BBC should rename itself EBC - English Broadcasting Corporation.

That's a bit silly. Scotland will get more coverage with regards to cricket and football when they start performing better at what they do. And it isn't like news from outside of England is ignored. But considering that England has such a large population, don't be surprised if most of the UK-related news is from England. And a lot of it will be based in London.

The only time I've ever heard a Scot mention cricket is to make fun of it.

Actually Ameriscot, The Scottish cricketer Mike Denness captained the England cricket team 19 times. But at least you can take from heart from Scotland's expertise at Curling!

No interest in curling either. Husband and I like fitba and he also likes rugby. I'm not a big sports person. My favourite sport would be harassing the English.

There you go then. You don't have to get upset on the Scots behalf - they do that already - probably the sport they're best at.

Don't you mean Wales excels in rugby?
