Wonderful mementos! I love blue and white china --well, I'm a sucker for all china anyway. Pillow is nice and your kitty cat on the Whitby blanket NOT MADE IN CHINA looks sweet.

I'm still trying to find out what tak HOD an sup lad means. The "hod"--must be a cup? The picture that goes with it shows a glass of beer so thinking it's a cup or a glass.

gate detail depicting a noble sheep at Piece Hall Halifax | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Sheep again. From the Piece Hall in Halifax where they used to sell the wool. Merchants would rent a stall.

That 1/2 Yorkshire Pud only made me want more. Hubby got the other half. I had to give it to him.

Kathryn..........I Can't let Yorkshire take all the glory. This is "Old" Hampshire, Winchester, ancient capital of the Kingdom of Wessex in Saxon England. The Cathedral and Jane Austen country, both 10 minutes away. Wishing Wichita Falls was just as close.....

Yes, that is a very strange saying. I am stumped!

Try reading "Feral" by George Monbiot and you might change your view of sheep as a natural part of a beautiful English countryside. Everything you see is designed and shaped by men who cut down the forests and used sheep to eat anything that would try and grow. And we pay to continue this environmental vandalism which would cease otherwise.
