The first thing I do when I arrive in England is to buy a beautiful Pork Pie.
The Fish & Chips with mushy peas are a big favourite, not the same here in OZ.
I do still make a lot of the old fashioned stuff Cottage Pie, Yorkshire Puds, had them last night,
Victoria Sponge cake, Trifle, Shortbreads, Mince Pies at Christmas luckily we can get Robertsons Mince here.
For me nothing in the world beats a traditional Sunday roast apart from perhaps a full English breakfast or a Chicken Vindaloo! (I know a Vindaloo isn't traditionally British food) Too many of those though and your arteries are going to suffer! For afters how about a gypsy tart (is that a Kent thing?)

It is some sort of tart made from brown suger and evaporated / condensed milk I think - its incredibly sweet and we used to get it fed to us when I was at school in Kent (its probably cheap to make!). I don't really eat much of it anymore but it reminds me of being young when I do. :-)
I did not grow up here so never got had a chance to tire of mince and tatties. Wetherspoons used to have it on the menu and I always got a smile or chuckle when I ordered it there.
I was devastated, well that might be exaggerating a bit, but disappointed when I was in Mousehole (Cornwall) and the pub in the harbour wasn't serving Starry Gazey Pie!
I miss food from home the most, some dishes I can make .. Sunday roast, shepherds/cottage pie, fish and chips. Other dishes aren't so easy mostly due to availability of ingredients.
We do get pasties here in Michigan however, they are made with minced meat and just aren't the same as home (family come from Cornwall so its a hard act to follow)
Hubby discovered Scotch Eggs while we were visiting and now I need to learn to make those, sausage meat here is much more fatty so might not be so easy, I found this out when making sausage rolls :\

Sausage and bacon are a lot fattier in the US. I much prefer British bacon and link sausages.
