Greetings!! I am in the USA and in the very early stages of trying to get a law such as the Inheritance Act passed in the USA.

I am mainly interested in grandchildren inheriting from grandparents who raised them yet may not have been formally adopted by them. This was the situation with my family. I was treated extremely poorly throughout the entire ordeal from blood relatives who swooped in from nowhere and made me feel nonexistent. I am aware that this probably will not help my situation, but i am dedicated to helping other people not feel like this.

I am eager for your feedback, experiences, thoughts, etc.

THANK YOU!!

Such a law in the US would likely be found at the state level, which means that your crusade would be that much longer.

As for experiences with inheritance in the UK, I have nothing to contribute. Although living in a place where trust funds were as common as the cold (St Andrews), I never heard of inheritance/family strife being aired.

Thank you for your feedback! This is probably not the best venue to gather information and experiences but i'm still hoping someone might have something to share.
