Are you one of those Americans that like to think of themselves as Irish and yet are probably about as Irish as I am Greek right? I bet you even put money into the collecting tins of the IRA didn't you?

So your thousands of miles away. Well I'm here in Ulster and I have a stake in this country where I live. We have had to live with the situation here for many years. Harrison was an American gun runner (maybe you know him) who said that if unionists don't follow the IRA line they will have to be driven into the sea.

It has happened before when the Protestants were driven into the sea (but not all of them) and that's why we are still here today. We have the Irish on one side at us and some indifferent English on the other who wish we would just go away. But we carry on.

I already came up with a workable solution.

The United Republic of Great Britain and Ireland. Secular with no monarchy. Each republic has home rule or a state government. London becomes like washington dc. There's a house of commons and a senate.

Build the irish sea tunnel for passenger rail between the british isles.

Problem solved.

I saw those collection tins with my own eyes back in 1988 in New York City. Plus signs on lamp posts saying 'Do not buy British goods, while the British occupy Northern Ireland.' I was disgusted.

Plastic Paddy's giving money to buy guns to kill mainly Irish people.

Yes, terrorism on your own doorstep will tend to do that.

Most of the " experts " on here are.
They're the Shiney Seamus' who think a trip to Ireland to drink tourist stout at the Guinness Storehouse and sing along with a few Wolfe Tone songs makes them as Irish as their great, great, great grandfather twice removed who once had a knee-trembler with an Irish colleen just off a famine ship from " Eire " .
You can see these clowns in cod-Irish theme bars all over the States.
