That only works when there is a majority with no jobs or prospects ... which is not the case.

Give it time. Youth unemployment is still stubbornly high at around 16% and has been much slower to fall than the overall unemployment rate, and still a long way off what it was under Blair (around 10%). There are a lot of young people who feel they have no prospects and no hope of finding a job - a lot more than there was 10 years ago.

I highly doubt any real revolution will happen but acts of rebellion? That is quite possible.

Funny how this now applies to me.

I'm now a statistic.

P London - do you claim housing benefit by any chance? They want to stop housing benefit for 18-21 year olds, which will force a lot of them onto the street or into homeless shelters since they have nowhere else to go. Their reasoning behind it is it will save money and that money can be spent on apprenticeship schemes - which might be true, but preventing them from claiming housing benefit isn't going to make them any more likely to take up an apprenticeship, especially if they have no place to call home. Plus you could save even more money by preventing housing benefit for under 25s or under 30s so I have no idea why that are so intent on vilifying the youth vote. Seems like the Tories really dislike young people - but they don't have much of a voice, and the party they previously voted for screwed them over.

Yes I claim Housing Benefit I still would even if I did work.. So they want to stop Housing benefit for under 21s? Why am I not surprised?

The claim they what to use the extra money for apprenticeships is ridiculous how can we go to apprenticeships if we're living in housing shelters or homeless? WTF...

It's a very cruel policy - even by their standards. The number of homeless people has already increased substantially over the past 5 years and this will make it worse. I feel sorry for these people - but it seems nobody is interested. You bring this up with Tory supporters and they ignore it and go straight back to business, economic growth and other nonsense. They know these people will suffer when they are in power - that's why they don't bother reaching out to them.

ACtually the Conservatives wanted to scrap housing benefits for under 25s but the Lib Dems stopped it -without them they will probably push ahead with it anyway.
