So much whining and crying, invective and bile from those who weren't counting on a new Tory government ... Please get a grip.
They do not like the unfairness of its all. Thatcher on average had about 1/3 of the vote and 1 in 4 of the electorate. Most did not want her. She was given unrestrained power. If we had PR she would not have dismantled British industry and sent it to China and created untold despair for many millions.
That is what happens in the system we have - tyrants do what the hell they like.

No jobs went to China during three terms of a Labour government? A Labour government that won more than 50% of the vote? I lost my manufacturing job to the Far East under Labour, but why let the truth get in the way of a stupid rant. And if we had PR we would probably now have a Conservative/UKIP government.

In 1979, the Tories had 43.9% of the vote
In 1983, the Tories had 42.4% of the vote
In 1987, the Tories had 42.2% of the vote
All three were well above "about 1/3".
By way of comparison, in 1997, Labour got 43.2% of the vote.
