Hi.
I'm probably posting this in the wrong place but whatever...
I'm 55 and I'm from the U.K., residing in Yorkshire. This website enticed me as it seems like a friendly place and has plenty of variety in its topics.
Looking forward to joining in with the chat, both with fellow Brits and also with others in the main USA area.
Cheers!

BBC news has a very young man anchoring this half hour. He had quite a problem with the name of a prominent medical college in Baltimore, Johns Hopkins. It came out something like John Hospiggins. We have some place names that are anglicized Native American names. No one expects those to be pronounced correctly. John's Hopkins? I'm watching in anticipation.
There are four NFL games in London, over October and the start of November, two are at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the other two are at Wembley.
The rules of American football are a mystery to me, i'll google around to clue myself in.
PS- Baseball rules were also a mystery til I came across this vid and now they're perfectly clear..-
That classic Abbott & Costello routine was brilliant and always gets a chuckle from me.
American football rules are difficult to follow at first because the game is very complex, both offensively & defensively.
Then some of the rules change every season, confusing those who aren’t paying close attention.
However, interest in some levels of our football seems to be waning, probably because of the politics being played by overpaid, pampered primadonnas who mistakenly think their opinions matter to to the fans.
Beats me why baseball don't use wickets (aka "stumps") like in cricket, because there's no more spectacular a sight than the wickets flying in all directions when the batsman is bowled out..

Baseball is certainly my preference, and the rules are a mystery to most non Brits in terms of American football.
PS - Thanks for the video link.
