That was an interesting video, and the guy spoke with passion. I think Jeremy Corbyn's best chance of being PM may have been in 1945 as leader then. There was no tv, and little media coverage beyond newspapers. That winning Labour party had a left wing agenda, and a war weary population desperate for change.
I think the young of today are also desperate for change. Some of them are full of passion, and fire and brimstone. There is also a large group of young people unable or unwilling to look up from their phones or games machines. We found this out at the Brexit vote.
Very few of older voters imo, will vote for Corbyn. They, even Labour voters won't come out to vote for him. Some young people will. These are the ones who turn up to listen to him speak. A larger group I believe won't even bother voting. "It don't matter who we vote for..... nothing changes, they're all the same, waste of time......." The Tories will come out and vote.
As I said before, the media will crank up the Marxist, too old, day dreamer, not a leader line. This sort of thing does work, or at least damages any political leader disliked by the real people in power. They will ensure he doesn't win. Only a massive swing his way, and a massive turnout of voters would give him any chance. This is not going to happen, short of a disaster within the Tory party.

Sadly, you're probably right. The media, will use everything they can to ensure Mr Corbyn won't get a look in.

The media did the same to Michael Foot. He was a decent, honorable man, and they attacked him without mercy. The same thing will happen to Jeremy Corbyn. I watched some of their conference on the news tonight. I was amazed, someone dared mention socialism. It's a long time since I heard that term used at conference.
The media is anti Corbyn that's true, but when his close friend and ex girl friend Diane Abbott called people who voted for Brexit 'stupid racists' then she's doing the media's job for them.

Yes. A lot of so called 'stupid racists' watching their country being changed against their will, came out and voted. The Brexit vote came from the gut, and the powers that be, especially the London elite don't like it.
It was interesting yesterday watching some of the Labour conference on the evening news. At the mention of the word 'socialist', a huge cheer came from the audience. This current lot, seem determined to chase every last bit of the so called Blair legacy from the party. They seem to want a return to socialism, tooth and claw.
It's a lot time since we had a Labour party like this. Most younger people won't even remember it. After all, it's 20 years since Tony Blair grinned his way into 10 Downing Street. There was a lot of this sort of thing in the 60s and 70s.
Maybe I've underestimated Jeremy Corbyn, and his followers. There is a gleam in their eyes, and a hint of triumph in their speeches. I would think the Tories will try and engineer an early election, before this bandwagon starts rolling.

Labour's shadow defence secretary Clive Lewis, had his speech changed minutes before he was due to deliver it.
Apparently his speech was seen by Corbyns inner circle as supporting Trident, so they changed it. The Independent said that Lewis punched a wall in anger after seeing the changes to his speech.

Yes, I saw on the news this happened. I would guess the Labour Parliamentary Party will be getting alarmed. They thought they could get rid of this man by mass walkouts from his shadow cabinet. They were wrong. The leadership vote has just made Corbyn stronger. I think it's gloves off now, and Corbyn and his cronies are on the up.
The trick is now, can they galvanize the young vote? The many who feel voting at all is a waste of time? Maybe he's a man whose moment has come. The Brexit vote proved people who don't vote normally, will do so when it's something they really believe in.
There are many people in this country who have been left behind, and ignored for decades. The British electorate are a confusing lot, and it's difficult to see where this is heading. Look at what happened with Thatcher. She came in to power in 1979, and then set about dismantling much of British industry, and selling off publicly owned assets to the public...... that was a good one. She doubled the unemployment line, and was looking in big trouble. Then, she got herself a successful war. The election came in 1983, and her Labour opponent was Michael Foot, a similar figure in some ways to Jeremy Corbyn. What happened? Labour got it's lowest share of the vote since 1918.
Now, the question is, has the electorate changed much since 1983? Can a left wing leader bring out the disenchanted vote? Corbyn can bring out the crowds when he speaks. Are they the same types who used to come out for Michael Foot? Corbyn, like Foot, preaches to the converted. But, the Tories will be watching with interest. The last leader, and the current one, have made fun of Corbyn at the dispatch box. They may now be taking a different line behind the scenes, and quietly discussing how to call an early General Election. I think if they manage to do this in the New Year, possibly after handing in our notice by letter to the EU, they will win easily. Time will tell.

That is sort of what i'm getting at. As i said, never underestimate social media, most people under 40 do not read newspapers or watch tv news.
You need to look at the example of Donald Trump, every single newspaper, every single news tv station, every single "talking head" was saying he won't win, the Republican party won't accept him etc etc... well what happened?
That was achieved by social media, now the question is can Mr Corbyn do the same?
The thing with Michael Foot... he was actually doing well, untill the Falklands war, Thatcher played that ace & it worked, people overlooked the aufull state the country was in & voted for victory.
You will of course remember that Foot & the Labour party were against the war, so & vote for Labour was portrayed as a vote against the victory, as i'm sure you will recall from the pages of The Daily Mail, The Sun & The Daily Express newspapers.
I'm not sure if he can get enough support to win a GE, but i think he will claw back some of Miliband's loses.
