Wow Lindsay. I thought we had stepped back in time there! I guess we Brits don't stop to look around us before we leave the country. Or maybe the bunnies digging up great holes in the lawn, the rude salespeople and the expensive sandwiches have something to do with it.

I agree, it is a good post. There are so many lovely things about the UK but I prefer the lifestyle in the US. Is your location San Antonio, TX? If so, I love it there. When we lived in Houston we regularly visited it. Speaking of Houston, don't know if all the Brits that are in the US know that there are British schools over here. So far, they are in Boston, DC, Chicago, Houston and Charlotte.
I've just remembered teacakes and hot cross buns.

Yes SA is a lovely place to live.
Pineapple fritters from the chip shop - ohhhhhh
Red Robin does good fish and chips if you have one near you.
I am originally from London and we used to go to Petticoat Lane and get salt beef sandwiches they were good, but I do not like jellied eels or pie and mash disgusting stuff.

Marks and Sparks underwear!
My Mum sent me some canned mushy peas and a bottle of malt vinegar. I had to make a good chip and mushy peas butty with butter on the bread. Still have a hard time getting used to mayonnaise on my sarnies.

Oh dear, I didn't know they dug up holes in your lawn.

I forgot to mention how much I loved going down the pub for a nice pub lunch. That was wonderful, sitting outside eating in the sun while my daughter played on the play ground.

I remember one night when I was up all night, I heard this funny noise because the bedroom window was open, I ran to the window and saw the milk truck. I couldn't believe it !! I had always watched this show called "Open all Hours" and LOVED it, they always had the milk truck on there as well, I thought it was so cool getting to see a real one. I also had a similar reaction to seeing the Thames Valley Police because I was such a fan of the Inspector Morse series.

We have those here in the states.

I remember I found a hedgehog in the garden while in Abingdon, he was so cute.
