That does sound nice, I enjoyed both Waitrose and Sainsburys as well as Tescos while I was there. It was like being in a NEW world trying out the different kinds of food.

Thanks for the kind thoughts and suggestions...
Central Market is great but 10 miles away, so more of a day out for me than a quick dash to the grocery shop! Whole Foods at Gateway is similar and closer, lovely stuff but pricey and still a bit of a trek. Otherwise it's HEB, HEB or...HEB!!!
There are a few online options but not a 'proper' full supermarket.....We are spoiled for choice in the UK, I didn't really appreciate that when I was living there.

Some of the things I miss not being in Great Britain:
- are my days at the free museums,
- or my day at the National Gallery (now I get updates on the internet)
- rashers of bacon
- roast beef Sunday dinners with friends
- antique rows in local communities
- real ques at the bus stop or turn-style
- Marks and Sparks on a mad shopping spree
- the Thames at night
- good humour and no peril of being misunderstood
- booksellers
Oh, the list is endless.

I remember just before we got on the coach to go into London from Oxford, I went into a shop there at the place we would get on and ordered a bacon sandwich, the guy looked at me like I was NUTS when I asked him to put mayo on the sandwich. It was the BEST sandwich I had ever had.

You are indeed right. As I was composing the list, I was thinking of booking a ticket.

I remember how it would stay light until so late, I would go for a nice long walk in the evening. It was so pretty. I wish I could go back for another 3 months now that my daughter is older, she would enjoy it more.
Here try this link out, they have alot of stuff including sausages.

Great thread! Making me very homesick!
I miss the gorgeous little villages that are all over the place with charming old houses and the local pub. Love pub lunches.
Roast dinner with Yorkshire pudding and proper crispy roast potatoes.
Soft Flapjacks like I used to get at school!
Golden syrup.
Skips. Monster Munch.
I really missed Tescos until I discoved Wegmans, and now I would miss Wegmans if we went back.
Woods filled with snow drops and blue bells. Crocuses. English gardens (which Americans would think were overgrown).
Hampstead in London - a village within the city. London as a whole. Great city!
FREE HEALTH CARE!!!!!!!
English summers.
A great curry!
Walkability of the small towns and cities alike.
Decent and real news coverage.
OMG; I really need to go for a visit! : )

Oh, dear, now you have me on the English garden. I think I'll paint one and put in my window.
