I am new to this site, and posted a "thread" but I'm not sure it went through. I am considering a move to Edenbridge, Kent from the U.S. I am seeking information regarding rental prices, utility costs, transportation availability and more importantly, the job market. I am 59 years of age and the U.S. is VERY discriminatory of older workers. Is it the same there, I wonder? I am single, no children so I would not need a large living area, however, I prefer to live alone. I would like to get another cat at some point if pets are generally allowed in rentals. I have a friend who just returned from England (I've always wanted to go) and she said the people are fabulous, charming and helpful, the food is fresh and clean, the countryside is beautiful and there is little crime which is certainly not the case here. I would be most appreciative of ANY information, actually. Anyone? I thank you in advance.

Edenbridge is an expensive part of Kent due to its transport links and proximity to London. Looks like you would be paying £700 ($864) per month for a one bed place. It is usual for pets to be prohibited in rentals.

Most professions prefer younger workers. It may change one day, but don't hold your breath.
