I imagine the only way the Queens Coronation Oath would be broken,is if her mind started to go.At 91 she does really well, but i suppose it is a consideration.Dont know what they would do though.
Charles is almost 70 so i dont suppose his reign will include even a silver jubilee
She would not abdicate. There would be a regency probably with Prince Charles as regent.
Charles, in turn, will be lucky to get 20 years on the throne.

I think that keeping with tradition Elizabeth will remain monarch while she is alive, no matter what her condition. Charles will simply assume more responsibilities that she is not capable of doing.
Charles should change the tradition, IMHO. William is age 35 and the old guard should rule no more than 15 years. If Elizabeth lives 9 more years, than Charles should rule for only 6 years. Then William should rule for no more than 31 years until George is age 50.
The UK deserves to have 50 year old monarchs or some other agreed upon age.
At this rate all of them could be older than 65 for the forseeable future.

Charles is an older man. Not wishing it on him, but if he dies before his mother that's the only way William will be the next monarch.
If the Queen lives as long as her mother there is a possibility, hadnt thought of that one Peg..
