Funny thing is, the more I visit the US the more I love the food there and really miss it when I have to return to England. Not just the American variations on what I can get here (burgers in the US are SO much more tasty - free range beef?) but the greater variety of international foods. I love to eat Mexican in the US but it's much harder to find in the UK.
Having said that, fries in the UK are far superior to American attempts.

Yep, its probably the diversity of foods over here that make it so wonderful. Whatever ethnic food you enjoy, you can probably find it in its most excellent form somewhere in the U.S. I am a fan of Indian food - OH YEAH. I used to love to go back to Norwich and London back in my hubby's hometown to get wonderful and real Indian foods - but now most major cities over here have excellent restaurants as well. I am so glad.

I love doner kebabs. I wish there were doner kebab stands in Chicago. Okay maybe NOT that British, but you can get them everywhere in England. I also miss curry chips, a proper English breakfast, REAL bangers with mash and steak and kidney pie. Mmmmmm.......

What are doner kebabs? Sounds Greek to me?!?!?
I must have been too long out of the home country, I miss bangers and mash, Yorkshire puddings and beef gravy, steak and kidney pudding, sherry trifle, and a good mixed grill!
Hope this response is acceptable to the Moderator and he doesn't lock it up too!
