I prefer Doner Kebabs to Gyros..

Also, it seems you can't get a gyro with that weird garlic sauce in it.

Sad that there aren't any doner kebab restaurants in my city... pretty hard to find all over the U.S.

I doubt very much the Turks eat these on the way home from the pub!

Kebabs and curries may not have their origins in the UK, but have been popular here for years, and are therefore now part of UK culture.

Chicken kebabs are best, because then you don't have to eat the meat off the spits you are referring to.

I think of doner kebabs and curry stands as being part of the British food culture. They're like McDonalds.

I've got a layover in Istanbul and cannot wait to stuff myself silly with doner kebabs.

If it will make you feel better, I miss real fish and chips.
Wow-Istanbul is a fabulous city

We eat occasional roast dinner (usually at my parents).Quite a lot of fish and loads of veg and salads. But I am a devil for the odd nice bit of pork or steak and kidney pie or fruit crumble and custard and I would give my right arm for a really moist boozey christmas pudding!

I'll be there for 7 hours. Just enough time to grab a kebab (or two). Man,
I hope the kebabs in Turkey are as good as the kebabs in England. I'll tape them to my body on the plane! hehehe
